One of the primary utilizations of Spanish Water Dogs in Spain is as a retriever of waterfowl and upland game dog. The SWD has great drive and determination.  Their need to please makes them very easy to train. Although this breed is relatively small in size as compared to Labs, Goldens and Chesies they are equal when it comes to drive, determination, intelligence and of course beauty.  As an added bonus, due to their size Spanish Water Dogs are less likely to capsize a small boat when getting in and out of the water. The following pages are my personal experiences with this great breed.
