"de Chesapeake" Spanish Water Dogs were hand picked from quality working dogs in Spain. Good Spanish Water Dogs come in many shapes and sizes, but a special pride exists in knowing that your puppy is the result of selective breeding from someone that really knows and understands this great breed!

Puppies whelped at "de Chesapeake" are born and nurtured in my home. They are exposed to handling by all members of my household and are exposed to household activities on a daily basis. Unlike kennel-raised dogs, they quickly make the social adjustments necessary to be successful in a new home. They are neither spoiled nor kennel blind.

Puppies are sold on either a spay/neuter contract or on a limited registration basis. Once they have achieved favorable OFA and CERF clearance, you will then be permitted to register them fully and participate in a breeding program to other healthy Spanish Water Dogs that are free of genetic defects and are good representatives of the breed.

Potential buyers are screened so that my boys and girls are placed in the best homes possible. If for any reason they leave your home due to relocation or other circumstances, I have first buy-back option.

Puppies are sold on a nonrefundable deposit basis. With receipt of a $200.00 deposit you will be placed on the list for a Puppy (provided you pass the screening). Since my emphasis is on quality rather than quantity, puppy availability is limited.

All puppies are micro-chipped to aid in their retrieval if they are lost or stolen.

I spend a great deal of time and energy into raising a litter. Although the risk of injury to a puppy in shipment is small I will not take a chance on shipping a puppy. You must make arrangements to pick him/her up.

I subscribe to training philosophies of Richard Wolters therefore I believe the best time to place a puppy in its new home is when the puppy is 7 weeks old.

Prices vary depending upon the combination of Spanish Water Dogs producing the litter. I do not discuss price via the internet. Please call me for more details.
